Every year, Hinge’s team undergoes extensive research to understand the challenges their communities face and released to the public through their annual D.A.T.E. Reports.

In collaboration with Hinge, we establish a new visual identity for their annual D.A.T.E. Reports, starting first with their 2025 LGBTQIA+ edition, “Love Beyond Labels.” This issue highlights the confusion that the labels in sexuality brings and how daters are embracing label fuidity.

The editorial design system is inspired by the structure and adaptability of a magazine. It brings to life rich data visualizations, real quotes from LGBTQIA+ daters, and shares guidance from Hinge Experts on navigating the dating landscape.

We introduced a playful, universal design element: the labelmaker. More than just a visual device, it served to both highlight and cleverly subvert the idea of labels themselves.

I worked as a core designer from conceptualizing, exploring the layouts, building the type system, crafting the spreads, creating custom labels, and exporting the production files.
